Clarity is free. What it's missing costs you more.
Clarity records sessions and heatmaps for free — but it can't tell you which shopper is about to buy or hand that context to an agent. Tradly Memory can.
The problem
Recordings describe the past
Free session replay is a generous offer, but replay is a tool for debugging UX. It's not a system for recovering revenue.
Microsoft Clarity gives stores session recordings, heatmaps, and frustration signals at no cost. For spotting a broken checkout button, it's great. The limitation is structural: a recording shows you one shopper's journey, and it stops at observation.
Revenue work needs the opposite shape. Instead of "watch this shopper leave," you want "this shopper has high intent and is stalled — here's the recovery." That requires per-shopper memory and the ability to act, not a replay library.
Head to head
Clarity vs. Tradly Memory
| What you get | Clarity | Tradly Memory |
|---|---|---|
| Session recordings | Yes | No — patterns instead |
| Heatmaps | Yes | No |
| Per-shopper intent profile | No | Yes |
| Cart / checkout signals | Manual review | Flagged automatically |
| Feeds AI agents / MCP | No | Yes |
| PII handling | Watch out in sessions | No — behavior only |
Where Clarity falls short
Three limits of replay
1. Replay doesn't scale
Thousands of sessions a day means hours of footage no one will watch. Clarity's sampling drops the exact shoppers you care about — the high-intent ones who stalled at the last step.
2. Heatmaps are aggregate, intent is individual
A heatmap says "the shipping link gets lots of clicks." It doesn't say "this one shopper returned twice, searched, added to cart, and left at checkout." That profile is what recovery runs on.
3. There's no way to act automatically
Clarity stops at observation. Recovery emails, remarketing segments, and page fixes are all manual follow-up. Tradly Memory hands the journey to an agent that drafts the next step.
The difference
Replay vs. recovery
Replay (Clarity)
Watch one shopper leave at checkout. Then the next. Then the next.
Recovery (Tradly Memory)
maya-84f2: high intent, cart created, checkout stalled. Agent drafts the email.
Stop replaying. Start recovering.
One script turns shopper behavior into memory your agents can use. See your first high-intent profile within hours.
